2.05 Doncaster Lady Eclair was a bitter disappointment in the Old Borough cup and she defenetily didnt give her running that day with Red Cadeux finishing a lot better and he was only 1lb better off for a neck 2nd place time before that which kinda gives me hope that Lady Ecair may be capable of bouncing back as a 3lb rise was not excessive considering what she beat, she could also apreciate the cut in the ground today and the step up back in trip! 0.5pt e/w lady eclair 20/1 bet365 3.50 Doncaster Citrus Star has threatened to be something a little bit special. I wrote this last time out: "5.10 Goodwood Citrus star will certainly want some cut in the ground but he is going the right way to be something a little bit special, he was 3rd in a listed event on final start as 2yr old and then 3rd first time out this season in an average handicap but a much more promising 4th last time out at epsom when hampered at start but runnign on very strongly, runs off same mark today and can be expected to improve again and really looks to be going the right way!" Same applies today he won last time out quite comfortably in the end and especially considering the run he got through and is probably worth more than the winning margin suggests which makes a 3lb rise look fair for such a competitive handicap. 1pt e/w citrus star 13/2 sj

Re: Flat Racing Friday 10th Sept After no bets today, tomorrow looks full of races that may have possibilities for me. First bet...... Doncaster - 3.15 We have a Fillies race here to be run over a mile. The ground looks to be drying up a bit and is forecast to be confirmed as 'good' for when the racing starts. Godolphin have a very promising runner in White Moonstone who will no doubt go off as favourite after 2 wins in her 2 career starts. Both wins have been impressive and good ground here or a bit softer will be no problem for her considering she has recorded wins on both previously. At Ascot on debut she was a nie price but obviously well thought of by the stable as Frankie Dettori went to the track for just the one ride before dashing off to his other engagements at another course. On that occasion, like her other run, the filly was not the quickest from the stalls but travelled well at the back before moving away from the main group, grabbing the rail and chalking up the win. Last time out, when stepped up to 7 furlongs, the selection beat Al Madina and Musharakaat easily when recovering from another slow start to come from the back and win comfortably. The extra furlong here is no problem when looking at the breeding and the way this progressive filly ran on at the end of both her races adds to that arguement. Entries for the Irish Oaks and Irish 1,000 Guineas show there could, possibly, be bigger prizes ahead. There are a large number of positives here so a decent sized stake is, i feel, merited. Midnight Caller is a bit of an unknown after running well here on debut and recording a good win last time out but this is a big step up in class and i think is best left alone. Instead, i have no problems placing a small amount on Sonning Rose as a bit of a 'saver'. On debut she had an awkward start but produced a good finish whilst next time out beat Whisper Louise, a horse who won here earlier in the week, to record a first victory. This filly has been running in good company of late and recorded a good 2nd over 7 furlongs at Ascot two starts ago when running on well at the end and i think the ground was far too soft for her last time out when finishing last against some promising opposition. Good ground here wont be a problem whilst Ryan Moore being on board is a major plus point so, if able to handle the extra furlong, i think she could be competiting at a nice price. Selections: 3.5pts Win White Moonstone at 9/10 with Victor Chandler (BOG) 0.5pts Win Sonning Rose at 10/1 with William Hill (BOG)
