: Haydock 1st July 14:00 Plumping for an outsider in Highland Jewel. Last time out on handicap debut was running at 7f, which was seemingly a bizarre decision considering she ran best in maiden company at 9-10f. That was at Wolverhampton where she made eye-catching late progress and that sort of distance seemed to be her ideal sort of trip. So the switch back to 7f where her first two runs came seems a strange one. Beaten 10l so could have run worse and was too one-paced for that trip. Should come on a bit for that anyway and has been dropped 2lbs as well. 0.5pt EW @ 28/1 VC 16:00 City Ground ran a blinder last time out when drifting heavily in the market, finishing second behind one of Andrew Balding's top prospects and I think Michael Jarvis' can go one better today. Unraced as a 2yo, made a promising start, 3l behind stable-mate Tesslam, who was first choice on jockey bookings anyway and that showed.
