LOTD - Friday 28th May

Re: LOTD - Friday 28th May 6.50 Stratford PLACE LAY: Good Company Jonjo O'Neill is finding it difficult to get a win out of this horse and he has tried him in three hunters' chases this season without success. Tony McCoy was back in the saddle last time, in a handicap chase at Worcester, but even that wasn't enough to coax him into the winners' enclosure. He's back in hunter company tonight in first time blinkers - which will either be a help or a hindrance - but he doesn't look the part at the moment and could run a stinker if the headgear turns him off.

Re: LOTD - Friday 28th May 750 Stratford: Painter Man This looks a very competative race, much more so than the two races Painter Man has won recently and is now as high in the weights as he ever has been, including his hurdling career. Fav at the moment and a definite lay for me.

Re: LOTD - Friday 28th May 2.30 Brighton: Joe Junior 1pt place lay Tough looking race for this horse with two very likely newcomers and a solid Mick Channon benchmark in opposition make it unlikely the horse will place IMO despite stable's two year olds going well so far this season. Afkar would be my win selection.

Re: LOTD - Friday 28th May MATA KERANJANG 3.30 Newmarket. Place Lay. Sets the standard and it's a decent standard. However, at around 1/5 in the place market and being up against a host of unexposed rivals, the value points to hoping at least a few can improve that little more than expected. The race is sure to be run at a pace with all the unexposed nature, so although should win, the value is to oppose in the place market.

Re: LOTD - Friday 28th May 9.10 Haydock - Reality Show (LAY) No one in this maiden is a total mug. Some have posted better runs than others and can step it up over an extra furlong or two. Although posting a dominant speed figure, the extra distance here is an unknown and with most opposition showing some kind of ability current odds of 2.4 make this horse one to oppose.

Re: LOTD - Friday 28th May 7.00 Pontefract Lady Luachmar - 1 pt lay - represents a top yard who have been banging in the winners but think there are a couple of big dangers at bigger prices, Eton Fable for one should be hard to pass. This one is 7/4 ish, laying.
