ELCAKER
Last night I played in a charity tournament in central London, I was completely card dead for the first hour and a half and literally did not play one hand. I have never experienced such a total and utter lack of any kind of playable hand. The one ace i got was a-9 off on my bb - there was a raise from 2nd position, a re-raise all in from the next player...I folded. Flop comes A9X, turn x, River 9 bit sick... However the total lack of action (my first first so to speak, dont see a flop in the re-buy period of a tournament) was more than made up for by my second first which occured once the rebuys were over (£100 a pop so no one was being that stupid). A certain James Akenhead joined our table. He proceeded to get busy, win chips, lost a big race then re-raised all in my initial raise (with 10-10, first hand of any note) I called - he flipped aj, I won the flip...Good Game!! He became the first WSOP main event final tablist I have ever won a pot off let alone eliminated. I'd like to say he looked remotely gutted, he wasnt but seemed an utterly charming bloke, which is what I'd heard. He made one sick call against Michael Greco, another lovely bloke, with bottom pair on a board that looked like all draws had missed but still contained an ace and a queen. Greco bet 3k on the river, Akenhead dwells, shakes his head, mutters to himself and calls with k2 pairing the 2 that had appeared on the flop. Greco definitely dropped a couple of jovial yet slightly frustrated f-bombs!! All in all a fun night...
