Pontefract 13th April

2.20 Pontefract Weak class 5 handicap and it could be at the mercy of Hits Only Jude who appears to have hit a good partnership up with this inexperienced rider is 13lb lower than last aw winning mark on turf and only found 1 useful looking sort better last time out back on turf, yet to win on turf and also wouldnt want ground drying out much more. 0.25pt e/w hits only jude 3.20 Pontefract Another useful looking class 3 handicap, and Kiwi bay already a market mover at this stage having finished well clear of a bunch of 6 on the unfavoured paceless far side in spring mile and on that effort looks well handicapped runnign off same mark today and I see no reason for him not come on more in a smaller field and drying ground conditions. 1pt win kiwi bay 7/2 bet365 3.50 Pontefract Sinbad the Sailor has taken another step forward this winter on the AW over this sort of trip recently and was slightly unlucky last time out and no reason to think he will perhaps be able to land a blow off this mark and will perhaps appreciate the switch back to turf. 0.5pt win sinbad the sailor 4.20 Pontefract Extremely competitive handicap and Shadows Lengthening is an interesting runner having racked off a 6 timer on the aw throughout the winter and has now become hard to place on the aw especially fibresand, will be interesting to see how he gets on back on turf off a 30lb+ higher mark and will appreciate the step back in trip and this jockey gets on well with the horse. 0.25pt e/w shadows lengthening

Re: Pontefract 13th April 14:20 Pontefract Dickie Le Davoir makes his return to turf today in what seems like a welcome return after some poor form on the AW. He has also yet to win for his current trainer but this will be his first run for Rae Guest on turf and hopefully that will spark some old form especially off a mark 1lb lower than his last win which came over course and distance. The fact he has won off a mark 9lbs higher over course and distance makes him very well handicapped for this race in my opinion. Billy Cray also takes off 5lbs to ease the weight even more. His only win last year came in a Class 3 handicap over course and distance so the fact he is racing down in a class 5 handicap today means he should go close. 0.5pts E/W Dickie Le Davoir @ SP 15:20 Pontefract Tight affair this but its fair to say Kiwi Bay deserves favourtism after running a very solid race when finishing 5th in the Doncaster Spring Mile for his first run of the season. His draw was far from ideal that day but he finished well clear of the remainder of the others runners on the far side and that should put him in good order today, especially since he gets in off the same mark. Is a previous course and distance winner and has also won in good ground before and due to his run in the Spring Mile it suggests he handles softer ground as well. This is a fairly competitive race in the same grade as well but I just feel he will run a very solid race today. 1pt win @ 7/2 (Bet365 - BOG)
