Musselburgh 4th April

Recommended Posts

2.50 Musselburgh Wheres riley has had a great season on the fibresand this winter and does return to turf on a good looking mark and has handle softer ground in past but how much more he is open to and on turf is a concern. Haigh hall shaped well on debut and not beaten far in listed event and could be handicapped to anything but concern as to why she has been off track for so long. Lucky Numbers will appreciate the cut in the ground and was nothing but consistent last year on unsuitable ground and if fully wound up should have a solid chance on this ground. The one that attracts me the most is Sirenuse who remains lightly raced and although worrying she finished so tamely at wolverhampton but returns to turf on a mark that is certainly workable for this sort having finished runner up off this mark twice. 0.5pt e/w Sirenuse 0.25pt e/w lucky numbers 3.50 Musselburgh A decent stayers event, Gordonsville won this last year off a 6lb lower mark but won round here off just a 3lb lower mark last time on flat and ran a good enough race over hurdles 60+ days ago and he is always consistent especially on ground with some cut. The other one that might represent some value is Bogside Theatre who is potentially well handicapped on old form after an awful season last year but has sparked a revival bid over hurdles and if converting that form should have every chance. 0.5pt e/w gordonsville 0.25pt e/w Bogside Theatre 4.20 Musselburgh Shes in the money was massively progressive last year and appears to go on most ground and ran a good race on debut last year to suggest she goes well fresh and certainly open to plenty of improvement with an inform yard. The main threat could be Ra Junior who ran his best race for a long while last time out a couple weeks ago on AW and if coming on from that could be dangerous but no guarantee a follow up is likely! 1pt win shes in the money

Re: Musselburgh 4th April 16:20 Musselburgh - Summer Dancer @ 8/1 365 (bog) E-W She's In The Money seems to be a popular choice this morning and deserves favouritism, however I can't ignore C&D winner Summer Dancer, two runs at this track with two C&D wins, have had four runs off this mark of 82 (highest ever), 09 last two form stats don't look great but the 9th at Chester can be excused, was drawn in stall 2 and was held up which is normally a killer at that track from a low draw, 17th of 20 before that at Doncaster, again never got into the race but was in a tough handicap. His other two runs off this mark have been decent enough with a 2nd and a 3rd so that suggests he can go in off this mark. Stable haven't had a winner in a while and this is their only runner of the meeting, but its interesting that the horse has been supported in the market on last four occasions. Ground isn't a concern as the horse won here on same going describe as Good to Soft, Soft in places. You take a chance on a horse who has not had a run since September but their are others in here without a run such as the favourite who also has not run since September, I'll side with Summer Dancer to make a place at least.
