Wolverhampton Feb 8th (AW)

Decent looking card for a monday! 2.00 Wolverhampton Kheley has run some respectable efforts this winter but without a win on the sand yet this winter, but wasnt beaten far in a claimer over CD a week ago and he was on very unfavourable terms, back in handicap company 1lb lower than last run in handicap company and should make his presence felt in this field. 0.5pt e/w kheley 2.30 Wolverhampton Not a big fan of these 'hands and heels' events need a horse that can perform under little pressure so that takes sir sandcliffe and red wine out of the calculations they both could win this but often need forceful urgeings. Armaddy is the one that catches my eye for a small bet, he doesnt visit here often but when he does he often runs a solid race with 2 seconds and a win to date, and a much improved effort last time out at kempton puts him right into the picture still on a 2lb lower mark than last win on aw and has previously gone well under this apprentice! 0.5pt win armaddy 3.30 Wolverhampton 3 confirmed front runners in the field today Ishiadancer who is yet to win aw and not exactly at best when last seen but does go well fresh, kipchack will need to win off a career best mark tonight but was given a confidence boost in claimer at lingfield on last start, the other front runner is the last time out winner SmallJohn but is lumbered with a 6lb penalty and again hasnt won a handicap off a mark this high and presence of other front runners makes things tough. Kensington beaten out of sight by small john latest 6lb pull in weights unlikely to make much difference and completely unreliable these days, Kingsmaite prolific winner on aw in his day mainly at southwell latest but still remains on a higher enough mark and totally dismal run on comeback appearing to need run and another 57 days off track tempers enthusiasm again, Blue charm been off for 195 days always needed a run before and probably better on fibresand and remains again on a high enough mark, so the one that interests me is Seldom he has finished second to Kipchak on penultimate start and meets him on 4lb better terms and last time out was second behind small john and meets him on 6lb better terms and with the race likely to favour a finisher Seldom maybe able to pick them up yet to win a handicap but fairly lightly raced and handicapper giving him a chance. 1pt win seldom 4.30 Wolverhampton Looks a handicap that may well produce winners in the coming weeks, with a few maiden runners making handicap debut and several coming back from breaks etc. but gonna take 2 likely outsiders. A Dream Come True hasnt been seen since Aug last year and although never showed to much fresh has been beaten to far before but debut for new yard and is 1 from 1 round here winning off this mark and has the useuful apprentice hefferman on baord claiming 5lb in first time visor everything suggests theyre trying for something rather than just a prep run and market will certainly be a keen watch. The other interest has to be Melt who take a big step up in trip today and has been racing over 7f recently but wins have came over a mile so step up in trip is certainly of interest also drops to last winning mark. 0.25pt e/w melt 0.25pt e/w A dream come true 5.30 Wolverhampton Cant see past Grey Command today he beat several of the closest threats here today in an apprentice handicap and goes unpenalised for that just 1lb higher in handicap and handicapper appears to have not caught up with this rapidly improving horse. 1.5pt win grey command
