Wolverhampton 4th Feb (AW) (Twilight)

Recommended Posts

5.20 Wolverhampton Class 4 handicap but a rather weak one at that, My gacho well handicaped on turf form massively out of form latest, Caprio reliable won claimer and handicap off a 3lb lower mark wide draw, Follow the flag unreliable and career high mark looks held currently, Red somerset won a claimer well held back in handicaps lately but a danger if returning to form, Fandango boy won well at Dundalk has looked held in uk on new mark, the rest of the field bar one offer little hope in my opinion massively out form but the interesting one has to be Just Bond who was an eye catching 3rd a few weeks back over CD off this mark he kept on well behind a potentially unexposed sort in uk and a well in form sort. Has previously won off a mark 2lb lower than current mark which would be a career best but that 3rd last time out suggests he can defy that. 0.75pt win just bond 7.20 Wolverhampton Aaman has been impressive lately BUT that has been on fibresand but has never quite shaped the same horse on the polytrack and likely to be too short for me to get involved in (would get stuck in if this race was on fibresand just reservation on surfaces for today) and with him in the field allows anything else can be backed e/w fairly easily and Baltimore Patriot looks likely to fill one of those spots or even pinch this if Aaman doesnt quite act again on surface. He was only 1/2 length behind Kristallo last time out when beating some useful sorts over similar trip at kempton and did run on well and runs off same mark today. 0.5pt e/w Baltimore Patriot

Re: Wolverhampton 4th Feb (AW) (Twilight) 7.20 Wolves: Blackstone Vegas 1pt e/w @ 40/1 Stan James BOG This one is interesting upped in trip to over 2m tonight. Originally with Howard Johnson the horse didn't show anything over hurdles and the few flat runs prior to that were no great shakes either (best effort was a 2nd over 11f at Hamilton from a mark of 62). However, has since joined Derek Shaw and although LTO run in a claimer was nothing to shout about when 4th (poor at the weights), the stable is in decent heart with a winner last week and with an apprentice claiming 7lbs the horse runs with a featherweight tonight. If the step up in trip suits then could quite easily run into the places or better at a nice current price of 40/1.
