Southwell 26th Jan (AW)

1.20 Southwell This is porbably todays worst race on the card as far as the handicaps go today, many have questions to answer again, some starting to look hard to win with, ungenuine, first run for a while, but the one that interests me slightly is Kinigi had been holding form well and although rather more held on last 2 starts but possible excuses with penultimate round here when track was riding awful and a polytrakc run. But if still in form is likely to be in the thick of it with the track expected to ride standard again and only handicap win has come off a 2lb lower mark. 0.25pt e/w kinigi 2.20 Southwell Provost could go well having a decent start for 3 months last time out over CD and returns to last winning mark over CD but he may have to step up a little bit more to beat Bestowed who has shaped well for the inform Evans yard, he is clearly a quirky character often pulling hard but Hefferman seems to get on extremely well with him and he won extremely well last time out over CD for first time and may have more to often on this surface even up 5lb for that effort. 1pt win Bestowed 2.50 Southwell Competitive affair and should be dominated by the top few in the current market in my opinion with most of them in good heart. Aeroplane has been kept very busy for an inform yard and young Evans is on board again and it appears he doesnt ride a finish out very well which Aeroplane needs and he is yet to encounter this surface! Imprimis Tagula is a CD specialist and beat Inlgeby arch by 8 lengths when they last met and although up 12lb still a big ask if in the same mood having run a fair race in the hot super 7 handicap when last seen. 1pt win Imprimis Tagula 4/1 bet365 3.20 Southwell My Friend Fritz is the only one that may take Shadows Lengthening on for the lead, he struggled to land the odds last time out but they may just be a case of a quick 5 timer catching up with him 5 wins in 24days over CD up another 7lb and could well get an easy time up front and looks open to further improvement on this surface. Trachnitis won well last time out but 10lb rise in weights looks reasonably harsh considering how the track was riding, and profits reailty is improving but is up 4lb for a second to full toss in a rather weak handicap which looks reasonably harsh aswell. 2pt win shadows lengthening

Re: Southwell 26th Jan (AW) 1:20 Just had a quick look through the card here and there's two that stand out at bigger (forcast) prices. The first one is Fulford. Brittain has his yard in good form, and although this ones form looks poor over the past few races, including being several lengths behind some of its rivals here, I'm mainly going by course form. Run twice over this C&D, finishing 1st back in January 08, and 1 1/2 lengths behind Mister New York who is a decent horse these days. With those things taken into account it could be worth a point at probable high odds. The second one is Sirjosh. First ride since September for this one, but back to a trip that should suit. Was tried over 8 and 10f in the last two races but didnt step up in trip, and is taken back down to the 6f here. Runs of a fair mark here of 51, with Atzeni looking like a good booking. Should try and take it from the front, and at the probably odds is worht an e/w shot.
