Racecourse trial of decimal odds set for the spring/ How would you change racing?

You may or may not know that a racecourse trial of decimal odds is set to take place in the spring. I noticed the example on the BBC website to be rather different to the figures I got when converting fraction to decimal. I was just wondering if this was another sort of method or have the made some sort of mistake?. Here are the examples in question A racecourse trial in the spring will see odds of 15/8, for example, becoming 1.9/1, and 6/4 becoming 1.5/1. To me those are still a sort of fractional odds in a way.

Re: Racecourse trial of decimal odds set for the spring I dont understand why they are still keeping the '/1' bit. Why not just have 15/8 as 2.9, 5/2 as 3.5 instead of 2.5/1 etc. etc.
