Southwell 15th Dec (AW)

1.10 Southwell A decent enough looking 5f sprint over the straight at southwell always a pleasurable race to look at. The tatling looks another nice price again today, he won this race last year off a 3lb lower mark, but has certainly blown out the ageing cobwebs this season with some blinding runs this season and handicapper certainly not giving him much slack for his consistence, he should get his strong pace he needs to come off today and of course J dean riding and stall 2 not ideal but not awful neither. Colorus will be my other interest in the race he appears to be running very well recently and a return to form is certainly looking lightly having only been beaten by a well handicapped horse on penultimate start and then 1 length behind the rapid improving lesleys choice last time out over CD off this same mark slightly better draw in stall 5 today rather than right on the rail in stall 1 like last time. 0.5pt e/w colorus 11/2 bet365 0.25pt e/w the tatling 12/1 bet365 1.40 Southwell Miss Glitters looks the one to beat by a long way she has a course record of 1181 and won over CD last time out beating the extremely useful salerosa who has gone on to win twice more since off 6lb higher mark and mozyada has given some strong running since aswell. He is 6lb for a half length victory over salerosa and on that line of form 6lb wouldn’t be enough to stop a very good show and 49 days off is no problem often races with long breaks and goes well fresh. 2pt win miss glitters 3.10 Southwell Gracies gift comes here off the back of 201 days off the track but has previously gone well fresh and prior to break was running well apart from last time out when a rather disappointing 10th in a very tough handicap at yarmouth. Has a brilliant course record with 9 runs and 3 wins and has previously won off higher marks than this. 0.5pt e/w gracies gift

Re: Southwell 15th Dec (AW) In the 1.10 Bet365 have opened their book early on this race and the 20/1 chalked up on BO McGINTY looks tempting e/w. Now on a very handy mark and goes well most times at the track and has a couple of wins here worth the risk at the price and may even get bigger than 20's. The Tatling is so old he will soon need a zimmer frame to get to the start but what a year the old boy has had with three wins already!
