Recommended Posts

4.00 southwell Figaro flyer enjoys a trip round here and ran a good 2nd last time out is raised 2lb for that effort but has claimer claiming an attractive 7lb, last won off a 1lb lower mark but take the jockeys claim into account puts him on a very interesting mark. 0.5pt e/w figaro flyer 4.30 southwell Miss glitters going for a bit of hope here, won her maiden round here in impressive style then in handicap off a 6lb lower mark than todays, since been on turf and all weather at kempton and put respectable efforts in 0.5pt e/w miss glitters 10/1 bet365 bog

Re: Southwell 27th Aug (AW) Blimey, just spent an hour or so going through a couple of races as the wife's gone out and I came up with the exact same as Chris at Southwell. Lets hope they go well Chris, I wasn't looking over your shoulder honest!! 4:00 Southwell: Figaro Flyer 3pts win 15/2 Betfair Figaro Flyer brings rock solid course and distance form in to this race. Just unable to pull back Luscivious in a Class 3 event on the 10th August. He attempts to go one better here off what would be a career high mark of 69, but his claimer John Fahy takes off a handy seven pounds. Plenty of dangers, with several course and distance winners, not least top weight Godfrey Street who ran well last time out behind Tony The Tap at Chepstow who nearly followed up at Sandown in a good quality sprint. However, while Godfrey Street has won over course and distance he has not run so well the last few times at Southwell. So I'll give a narrow verdict to Figaro Flyer and the early price on Betfair of 15/2 seems reasonable. 4:30 Southwell: Miss Glitters 3pts win 10/1 Bet365 (Bog) Miss Glitter lines up here with an unbeaten record at Southwell. She won her maiden and then a handicap off 70. She is 6lbs higher today and in a better quality race, however Miss Glitters is lightly raced with only seven career starts, so every chance she can improve. Her trainer Hugh Morrison is going really well in the past fourteen days, with a 25% strike rate, and almost matches that ratio (9/46 older horses and a profit of £30+) here at Southwell over the past five years.
