NRL: Round 21

Melbourne win by 1-12 margin @ 4.10 (sportingbet) The Dragons are on top of the ladder and have been playing at a very high level for a number of weeks. Last week's performance against the Warriors showed there may be some chinks in their game, even though they ended up winning 29-4, there was quite a few mistakes in their game. As for the Storm, they are 4th and looking to consolidate a top 4 spot. While they easily disposed of Cronulla last week 30-10, the Sharks are pretty ordinary. However it is the form of Smith at hooker which stood out, and when he plays well, the rest of the team tends to follow. Like the look of the Storm players atrting to lift their game heading into the semi finals and to knock off the top team would be a big plaus for them. The Storm have won 6 of the past 8 clashes between the two teams and are a bit of a bogey side for the Dragons, and like them to edge oput the top team in this clash once again Gold Coast -19.5 (pick your own line) @ 4.65 (centrebet) The Titans sit 3rd with an impressive home record and are coming off beating the Broncos 34-18 last Friday night while the Cowboys are 8th and lost 28-20 at home to Penrith last Saturday night. Prior to that they were on the receiving end to a hiding from the Tigers on the road who play similar to the Titans, and so looking to a similar result here. Thurston is the heart of this team and he isn't playing with the same level of confidence and enthusiasm as he usually does while the rest of the team besides Bowen and Webb are reluctant to put the hard yards in if they are not in the mood. With their form slipping they are meeting a team that is continuing to thrive who are undefeated at home and did beat them 36-18 last year. With the Titans having won 43 of their past 4 clashes, as well as the fact they need a win to consolidate a top 4 spot, can't see them struggling to a Cowboys team that isn't putting much effort into their game in the last few weeks.
