The Middleham handler tasted Group success at the weekend with Lord Shanakill (the first Group 1 of his career) and more group success could be around the corner here, this time with his Kheyelf colt. His Nottingham debut was nothing out of the ordinary but he showed improvement to reverse form with Military Call next time out at Musselburgh and won his maiden cosily. He then stepped up into a conditions race at the same track and finished infront of Archers Road who is quite a useful juvenile. The winner went on to finish fourth in the Cherry Hinton yesterday, so that isn't too bad form really. Last time out he ran in the Norfolk Stakes (Grp 2) at Ascot, finding only Radiohead too good, but he had Nosedive and Diamond Johnny G (who reoppose here) behind and in beating Monsieur Chevalier, may also have the beating of Angel's Persuit on a formline though Iver Bridge Lad. Arcano looks a worthy fav and his maiden form has been rubber stamped many times over. However, those form boosts have come in maidens, and it remains to be seen whether the horses he beat will make up into Group performers. At the odds I'm willing to take him on with one at an each-way price, and Reignier is it. 16/1 Blue Sq, EW.
