Newmarket Sat 27th June

Recommended Posts

Re: Newmarket Sat 27th June Imbongi Most of his races have been on faster ground and on those occasions where he has raced on yielding and on soft the form is 6th and 9th, most of his winning form is at home in South Africa of which he does not seem to do well outside. Imbongi lay for a place 1.79 Betfair

Re: Newmarket Sat 27th June 2:20 Newmarket: Kurtanella 2pts win 12/1 Paddy Power (Bog) Her form reads more like a jumper with an unseated rider, but that was in a Group 3 at Ascot. Obviously well thought of by her trainer to be entered there. Form equally as good as two or three of her shorter priced rivals today.

ReasoningWon nicely on debut at Folkestone and the form has since been franked with the 2nd winning easily next time out. Ran very green that day and likely to be much wiser this time around. This is obviously a big step up but its not the most competitive listed race you will ever see and John Dunlops youngster could well be upto winning this.

ReasoningThe easing in the ground will suit this horse today and he should be too good for these rivals. Age Of Reason comes from the Godolphin camp which immediately puts me off and I doubt whether Wasan will see out this trip but he is definetly a live danger if the trip doesn't pose a problem.

ReasoningBeen contesting much tougher races than this of late and his run when finishing just 3/4L behind Paco Boy a few months ago now looks very good indeed. Ran well enough in the Queen Anne at the Royal Meeting and he should well be upto winning a race like this now his sights have been lowered.
