Samba_SamPa
Posted this hand in my staking thread, but wanted to stick it in here too to see what tales the rest of you have :) You ever came across anybody playing poker who quite evidently should just give it up as a bad job? I played a tournament in Malta last week, which had about 1/3 of the field who were clearly boozy tourists. One hand sticks out a country mile for me I am in the BB with :As::Ks:, blinds 200/400, there's 3 tables left (about 25 people). UTG (who I have pegged as drunk Dutchman) limps from utg, all fold round to SB who makes up the blind. I have 13k chips and raise to 1500, utg calls and SB folds. 3400 in pot Flop is :Ts::Td::Ah: He bets 400 of which I am suspicious he has a T, but reckon he has an Ace rag and is scared of the board. I reraise to 1900 into the 3800 pot. He calls. Pot now 7200 and I have invested 3400. Turn is :5c: and he shoves the rest of his stack in, which was another 2200 chips. I am fairly sure I'm ahead, the turn was a total brick, and were he to have a 10 I still have 16 x BBs left, so I call, and turn my AK over. He whoops and turns over his :Ac::5d: and says, and I quote him "nice hand friend, but I have 3 pairs to your 2!" Bye bye drunken Dutchman :rollin

billy the punter
Re: Opponents who should take up knitting Check out how I went out in the big tournament at The International yesterday (in thread started by tealc). That bad play got rewarded though. Played the tourns there Thur, Fri, Sat and went out to a 50/50 (5 from the money), crippled by an 8%'er on bubble, then an 88/12 yesterday. Shocking. I saw something similar to this in a live game. Three players see the flop J,4,4. Player one goes all in. I reckon he could be on a bluff, but don't have a hand and fold Player 3 calls with 9,2 :eek and Player 1 shows Q,10 Turn is a 9, river is air. heniek31
Re: Opponents who should take up knitting It baffles me no end, that sort of players. I would give all the money in the world to be in their heads, just for those few seconds when they make a decision :unsure. It's a $5 MTT, 3rd hand, so blinds are 10/20 and stacks are 2.5k. Guy from EP raises to 500 :unsure. WTF? I have AA and push all in. They insta call with 55 :unsure. WTF??????????? And they are out :eyes. Can some one explain? heniek31
Re: Opponents who should take up knitting This is from satellite I have just won (70 seats of $215 and we are playing for 5 hrs). Must be one of the most stupid players I have ever seen. We are on the bubble, blinds 1.5/3k. There are 3 guys on 200, 300 and 400 chips (antie 300 :loon ). Now, on one table guy has 24k and he limps in. BB (he has 50k) checks and they see flop of Ks 7s 3s. BB checks and limper bets 3k. Now BB pushes all in. The limper still has 18k if he folds :loon:eyes. But he calls with................ are you ready? 10s10c :eek. BB has As 9 and of course he hits a spade. Just speechless. Any one care to explain this one? :p
