Re: $5,500,000 Melbourne Cup - Tuesday November 4th in Australia Australia's most famous race the Melbourne Cup is on next Tuesday and there are many UK horses high up in betting and time for you knowledgeable punters out there to help us Aussies sort out the best British horses. All The Good won our second biggest handicap a couple of week's ago the Caulfield Cup over 2400m and Mad Rush was a very unlucky 4th. Bauer then won Country Cup called the Geelong Cup quite easily and he is now in 24th order for the Melbourne Cup and may get a run. Bookies have Septimus favourite and from all accounts he is much better than All The Good and Mad Rush. Septimus is going to have to do what only 2 horses have done in a very long time and that is win the Cup carrying more than 58kgs, and he has 58.5kgs which is a big ask in our racing, and he is not real value considering. Mad Rush was a super run in the 2400m Caulfield Cup over 2400m and he escaped a weight penalty. Anyone care to give their thoughts on the International invaders to our shores? They look far superior to our stayers.
