New Poster System

Hi Folks Newbie here but have paper traded a very, very basic system which returned decent results last season so I thought I would share this one with you all. I am only paper trading at moment and I am using a starting bank of £100 with £5.00 stakes on each selection. I'll probably get laughed off the forum with this effort but here goes!!..... Home team must have scored 2 or more goals in last away game. Away team must have scored 1 or no goals in last home game. All selections are home win singles and odds for the home team must be between 1.5 and 2.5. My theory is that anything shorter than 1.5 and there's no real money in it and anything longer than 2.5 is too risky. The odds posted by the way are the best odds at the time of me posting selections - not necessarily the best odds at kick off and I am only using EPL, CCC, League 1 and League 2. Saturday 25th October 08 Hartlepool v Brighton 2.12 £5.60 :cow MK Dons v Cheltenham 1.68 £3.40 :cow Gillingham v Chester 1.72 £3.60:clap Port Vale v Morecambe 2.04 £5.20:clap Starting Bank £100 Total Staked £20 Returns £37.80 Profit £17.80 New Bank £117.80

Re: New Poster System Unfortunately, no stats from last season. Being somewhat of an amateur I never really thought about keeping a running record as such!! Only snag with this system is that at times it can be a bit hit and miss (but then any system can be can't it!!), and because of the odds that i'm playing with, one losing bet can easily wipe out the winnings from 2 winning bets. I am working on a staking plan to help alleviate this problem but i'm open to ideas for sure. I'll keep at it but any constructive criticism or thoughts would be appreciated. Only time will tell :hope

Re: New Poster System Right then..........after a bad week last week, heres this weeks selections. Only 3 of them due to the cup games so I have had a look at the scottish leagues and taken a pick from there aswell. My system does not cover cup games at the moment....only league form. Reading v Derby 1.73 Southampton v Bristol City 2.50 Ayr v Stranraer 1.53 :hope

Re: New Poster System

Seems a very good approach - early days yet though Have you looked at European Leagues also - you may gat a better strike rate :)
Yeah I think I'm going to. It can be very restrictive sometimes like last weekend where I only had 3 games and even then, one of those was a scottish game. Cup weekends generally tend to bugger things up a bit but I have been led to believe european games may offer some value aswell so I shall take a look.
