I've been reading this forum for several months and have found the discussions / systems fascinating - sorry if a bit sycophantic but I'm being sincere :) . I'm a pure spread bettor which raises a few issues but I'd like, with a bit of encouragement, to offer a few systems / prop tips in this medium. THE ISSUES In Spread Betting, how would I effectively measure yield because my value at risk (given a worst case scenario) would be massive - for example a football team I back COULD lose by ten goals but that obviously isn't realistic ;) ! I hope Joe might have some insight on this dilemma. My most profitable sport on the spreads is golf - especially finishing positions - but you guys seem focused (obsessed?) with soccer. I also play the beautiful game but am not as successful! Initially I'd like to proof a golf FP system if that's OK with you chaps - I'll only deal on SI prices to fair to all - ie I won't scalp - and I won't close open positions. VAR in this case is easy to measure since the minimum / maximum make-up is 1 / 50. I'll start with a bank of 300pts (a max ever drawdown in 5 years) and each bet will be a humble 1pt. If it's ok with you guys - I'll give you my selections (bet with actual cash) for this week despite both tournaments having already started - I'm not spamming in any way so I hope it's ok. You are very welcome to post your system here, the more variety the better and we have no-one doing either spreads or indeed golf. You might even want to join the systems league eventually, but that is up to you. The yield question is something I will leave to someone with more advanced numberical skills, its an interesting one though. If you join the league that will pose similar issues over what data to use. Best of luck with the system. No problem with your tournament having started. Quite a few of us have started posting systems after some initial starting selections. It is not significant in the long term in terms of proof of an edge.
