Stil carrying the 6lb penalty for his win in his penultimate start AZYGOUS was part of the finish that THOUGHTSOFSTARDOM won at Folksetone and now according to my dodgy maths is 1lb better off here, he was also behind Fairfield Princess before that but again, meets on slightly better terms. Hasn’t won for best part of 2 years and on a 29 run losing streak. FAIRFIELD PRINCESS won LTO (with AZYGOUS behind) and is up 3lb for that. That was her first win since her second start. Her OR has been going down like a ski slope since she ran in a couple of Listed events at the very start of her handicap career. Connections now much more realistic and hard to say how she’ll go now at this level. BLESSED PLACE won well in a made-all performance LTO on the AW and is rated much lower on the sand. Was down at a career low mark for that performance however and has risen 7lb for that win. Jockey, Billy Cray is six from 18 when riding for Dominic ffrench Davis in 2008, for a profit of £21.50 PERLACHY is a consistent performer but has never won at 5f in 19 attempts (2 wins from 40 runs otherwise – both at 6f). Off a winnable mark but has had chances before. EL POTRO hasn’t won on the AW for 2½ years and it seems prefers the turf when it has some cut in it. Needs to be lower still to compete imho. GONE’N’DUNNETT lines up for his 150th run today. A winner over 6f here in May, but 5lb higher now. ELA ELEKA MOU won her racecourse debut in a class 4 at York, did ok in her next 2 contests but then has totally gone off the boil only beating 3 horses home in her last 5 races! At career low mark but cannot put any confidence in. REPEAT has been off course for 911 days. Was a banded horse at his best and wont win unless he has grown wings in his convalescence!
