York 12/10/07

Re: York 12/10/07 Following Upton Grey and Rudry World recently and previously followed Kerrys Dream. Avoiding those short priced fancies and hoping to nail some nice ew money today. :hope Upton Grey 2.40 York Made its debut over 7f in the race won by Rio De La Plata, which has again boosted form in France at the weekend. Seemed to improve with the drop to 6f and softer ground, won well eased down and then finished 3rd last time out only beaten a neck and a short head. Travelled well for a long way that day and can come on for that race experience and get involved at a decent price. The Stoute horse, Floristry is the biggest danger but has only won a class 5 maiden, albeit in good style. Gongidas 3.15 York A quirky Godolphin horse that you can’t put too much faith in but clearly has ability and has won despite playing up on occasions. Very versatile regarding the ground having won on good, good to firm and soft. Godolphin 2nd string judged on jockey bookings but could be of ew value if it has managed to sort out its temperament problems and has won 3 times over 1m. The paddock will be a good guide as to whether to back it or not. Kerrys Dream 4.25 York Won well enough on its debut on soft ground over 5f (April 2006) and was not disgraced in 2 listed races after that but has not won since its first run. Has contested many races above this class 5 level and has dropped down the weights to what looks like a suitable mark. Ran ok at Redcar over 5f just 6 days ago and turned out quickly from the Easterby yard that usually have some success at this track. Should be a nice double figure ew price and has a realistic ew chance. Rudry World 4.55 York Looks to need cut in the ground with recent efforts being on good to soft and soft. Only beaten a head last time out in a class 5 race and had won readily the time before that. Seems very well suited to this 12f trip and Sophie Doyle rides the horse well with 4 wins, 3 seconds and a 3rd from 8 rides. Goes from class 5 to class 4 but has been progressing nicely lately and can get involved in a race like this.
