I will be starting with a £100 pot for this and it will do be over 8 rounds of betting. Each round therefore will begin with a £12.50 balance. You could of course do this on a much smaller scale but I've decided to do it this way. The idea is to start each round with a lucky 63 and then either add selections or lose selections from there. So if the lucky 63 wins I'll be able to stick on a Super-Heinz and if it falls flat on it's face it will then be a Lucky 31, etc. The idea is to use around half the balance to place the bet. I will also have a bank which I hope at the end of the 8 rounds might have £100 back in it- or more would be better. The bank will be filled with half of any profits. Obviously this isn't going to be easy but I'll give it a bash anyway.

Re: Half measures Round 1 is almost at an end after yesterday's disaster- and pretty crap betting from attempt 1. A Lucky 15 today and if that loses a 70p patent tomorrow. Failing a win with those two bets the remaining pot will be put in the bank and it's on to round 2 of 8. The stakes are low at the moment and get a bit ridiculous when you get down to a patent but I feel that is the best way to go. When you hit a patent it's not working so there is no point in throwing big amounts at it. On the other round if the 8 rounds go well enough then next time you can up the unit stake- always living within your means. Yesterday was a disaster and fingers crossed it won't get as bad as that again. I'm reduced now to a Patent and with Paddy Power as the bookie I couldn't make it 10p per line, minimum of 14p, so in all it costs £1.05 @15p per line.

Sometimes it just takes a wee lucky run to kick start things. I've updated the stats for round one in the first post. Re: Half measures Being Scottish it's a bit ironic that my 2 losing selection out of 19 so far in round 2 involved Scottish matches. So my first attempt at a Super-Heinz didn't win but did at least end in profit paying a touch over evens for 6 out of 7. These posts are a bit big so to simplify I will say the £12.50 bank for this round has been bet and the overall bank so far of £25, 2 round of £12.50, is just over £1 short. This round is much better but I don't like the look of the Sunday betting and will take whatever I can from it. The interesting thing about today is that it was very comfortable apart from the one losing selection. I could actually have handicapped the bets and still more than half would have had a goal or more to spare. East saying that on hindsight though. Some bizarre results though. When you see 8-1 and 7-4 you'd think I'd made them up. Re: Half measures Another bad day for the Super-Hienz but more frustrating that last. I hate bets not been completed within 24 hours so should have just went for everything on the Monday. Instead I only had 1 winner from 4 on Monday making Tuesday useless- where 3 out of 3 came in. So another loss and now back on to the Lucky 63. I need a small return on this, about 2-3 selections correct, in order to attempt another one.
