Re: Thirsk Selections 4th August Going to this tomorrow, most of the races are extremely tricky to call IMO and will need the paddock/morning to suss out my final selections but one that i do like is Blue Spinnaker in the 3.10 for an E/W shout. Usual Jockey Paul Mulrennan takes the ride on returning AW specialist Atlantic Story leaving a 7lb claimer to ride the selection, leaving Blue Spinakker with 9-3 to carry. The selection usually runs in Class 2 races of late but is now dropped to a class 3 where his record is 2-3-1-1-2, 3 of them carrying more weight than he is today. He was turned over by Nevada Desert LTO (who also runs today), and ran a sound race, but on that occasion ND was 6lb better off - today Blue Spinnaker is 6lb better off than ND. Blue Spinnaker acts on the ground and I really like this look of this bet today. Will probably be my biggest bet (albeit E/W) of the day. :hope
