FleetFanatic
Re: How do i work out football points? Hi & :welcome . What doesn't help is that the staking system used in the first few pages don't apply anyway. Here is the 'old method' reproduced: RATE ONLY HOME TEAMS PREMIERSHIP TO CONFERENCE ONLY (Any other leagues is at your own risk) NO CUP GAMES UNLESS 2 TEAMS ARE IN SAME LEAGUE DIVISION Draw up a grid with the following columns: Home team / Odds to win / League Diff / Home form / Away Form / Home Overall Form / Total. 1st 2 columns explain themselves - if they don't then you shouldn't be betting! :lol League Diff is the difference in league places. If home team is lower than the away team then the number will be a minus figure. Home form: home team's home wins minus draws minus home defeats Away form: away team's away wins minus away draws minus away defeats Home overall form: Look at home teams last 6 LEAGUE GAMES ONLY. Award points as follows: Home wins by 1 goal - 1 point Home wins by 2 goals - 3 points Home wins by 3 or more goals - 6 points Away wins by 1 goal - 2 points Away wins by 2 goals - 5 points Away wins by 3 or more goals - 7 points Home draws - nothing Away draws - 1 point Home defeats - MINUS 4 POINTS Away defeats - MINUS 2 POINTS TOTAL: Calculated as follows: League Diff + Home form - Away Form + Home Overall Form The crucial thing to remember is that when subtracting the away form, if this is a minus figure, will actually meaning adding the number to the total. ie (10) - (-5) = 10 + 5 = 15 Remember: minus a minus is a plus! :spank As a ratings guide: 30+: on paper, consider it a banker 21-30: should win (but there's always one that doesn't) 11-20: probably win (but starting to get a few doubts) -10 to 10: could go either way by a goal, or a draw below -10: avoid! A large minus figure does not mean a banker away win - you've rated the home side, not the away side! Although the away team does win more than lose in these situations. I have reproduced this for you as I have it posted in my thread anyway. I have never explained the 'new method' & don't intend to. If I tell people everything, there would be no reason to visit my thread..... :ok
aliando
Re: How do i work out football points? i think what Fleet does is put up the strategy when he starts the thread but then takes it down once it gets going - it is completely up to people whether they wish to share their systems and also to what degree they share them. Fleet Fanantic would be the best person to answer this question as it is his own system :ok And to be fair, Fleet has more than his fair share of successful systems :clap

Heh heh heh. :lol The 2-pronged attack with the old and new methods is starting to pay dividends too! :ok We're in profit on the trebles! :nana :cow :nana :cow :nana Just need 1 pesky 7-fold to drop in now..... :spank

Guvna
Re: How do i work out football points? Can i just run through quickly to make sure its right? Im posative it is. Ive did the Home Form and Away form from the last 6 matches. Home Team: Charlton (Charlton vs. Chelsea) Odds To Win: 6/1 (William Hill) Leauge Difference: -16 (Compared to Chelsea) Home Form: -7 Away Form: -12 Overall: -3 (-16) + (-7) + (-12) + -3 = -6 Which would recommend me not to go on Charlton. But this wont guarantee a 100% definate win, it would state not to back Charlton based on previous games. If its correct im gonna go for a triple on saturday with 3 teams and let you know what i went on and how it goes.

I get a different answer to you Guvna: League Diff + Home form - Away Form + Home Overall Form (-16) + (-7) - (-12) + (-3) = -16-7+12-3 = -14 At least one of us is wrong :lol

Guvna
Re: How do i work out football points? This has thrown me way of now. I thought i had it, gotta relearn it all :(
AlanDB
Re: How do i work out football points? This is how I'm reading it Guvna: League Diff + Home form - Away Form + Home Overall Form League Diff = -16... add the Home form to this... adding -7 means you're subtracting 7... so we've got -23... subtract the Away Form... subtracting -12 means you're adding 12... so we've got -11... add the Overall Form... adding -3 means you're subtracting 3... so we end up with -14. I need a beer after that :lol :beer

Guvna
Re: How do i work out football points? Leauge Difference: 3 Odds: 1.80 Home Diff: -2 Away Dif: -10 Overall: -6 (3) + (-2) + (-10) + (-6) = -15 3 + -18 = 15 This good now?
merlin
Re: How do i work out football points? .... got it wrong again Guv! The answer is 5. Work it like this:- 3 -2 = 1 then add 10 for the away minus form = 11 then subtract 6 for the overall home form = 5 ......... OK ;)
