Protocol for PL games???

This is posted with the aim of establishing the right thing to do during the Virgin PL freeroll... You are sat behind the two blinds, who are both sitting out, for whatever reason. Everybody else has folded and there you are sitting on the horns of a dilemma (probably pretty painful at the best of times). Do you... Fold to allow preservation of the blinds. Limit your call to the big blind then check to a showdown with the BB. Raise, as would surely be the normal play, and take the blinds from the two sit-outs. Last night I felt decidedly unsure during the Virgin Freeroll and noticed one PLer who folded in this situation. They say all is fair in love and war, but no mention of a PL freeroll!
