effigy Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 St Louis @ Nashville: Nashville have come out of the blocks running this season, if the new rules helped anyone's game any more than Paul Kariya I haven't found them yet, and Scott Sullivan is continuing in the same vain he left off with the Predators in 03-04 ( 30 points - 24 games ) as is Scott Walker ( 67 points - 75 games ) backed up by a solid goaltender in Vokoun. Their 5-0 record is a little misleading however: two came by the way of the new shootout, so were technically ties and two others were by a single goal ( not that means an incredible amount, but it shows that they aren't steamrolling anyone ). Intrestingly enough, the other win was against the Blues 4-1. Both single goal wins were achieved from behind in the 3rd period too, and any coach will say you can't keep getting yourself out of a hole in a long season like this. Also the Preds have only outshot 1 team in the 5 wins so far, the Sharks on opening day, and only by a single shot. I'm not putting down anything achieved by the Predators as hockey's about winning, and I also expect them to make the playoffs, but I just don't think that a team can continue in a winning vain for too long being outshot and coming from behind, and I have to take the Blues to win in the market that Nashville's start has created. The Blues look like they could turn it around a little too, 3 straight losses is not the start such a franchise like the Blueswould expect, no more Pronger and MacInnes slapping them in from the blueline, but they still have Weight and Scott Young, and if they can get/keep Tkachuk fit then they have a decent team. Anyway, feedback appreciated. ST LOUIS @ 4.20 BETFAIR ( Regular time win ) Quote
