Re: Gaelic Football & Hurling - June 12th As you may have gathered from the first post their is no Saturday games - all on Sunday. Here's my thoughts; Galway (-7 Pts) 10/11 vs Leitrim Leitrim caused a suprise by knocking Sligo out in the last round but that is the best they will get this season - Galway should trounce them the are better in almost every position and will be hungry to regain thier Connaught Crown after loosing last year to Mayo. The Galway manager is making 5 changes from the side that won in the last round vs New York, thought most or these are tactical. Two players are out however - Bergin & Padraig Joyce. Leitrim name an unchanged team for this match. In short Galway have the capacity to score goals and really tare apart teams that are poor at the back (They got three in the last round) - and that includes Leitrim. Leitrim team has been announced; C MacCrams, M McGuinness, J Mckeown, D Reynolds, N Gilbane, B McWeeney, S Foley, C Carroll, G McCluskey, J McGoldrick, B Prior, M Foley, J Glancy, C Regan, D Maxwell. Confidence - Galway on Handicap 7/10 *************************************** Wexford (-7 Pts) 10/11 vs Laois Two counties in Leinster are basically far, far better than the rest Kilkenny and Wexford, and for these two not to contest the final in the last 8/9 years or so is always a major shock. The are so far superior to laois is hard to draw comparisions, and while the handicap is reasonably big at -7 Pts, I still think they are more taht 50/50 to pass by this margin and into a double figure win. Laois team has been announced; P Mullaney, B Campion, P Cuddy, M McEvoy, J Fitzpatrick, D Rooney, S Dwyer, J Young, J Walsh, J Phelan, E Meagher, C Healy, P Fitzgerald, L Tynan, D Culleton. Wexford Team; D Fitzhenry, D O'Connor, D Ryan, K Rossiter, D Ruth, D Stamp, D Lyng, R Barry, A Fenlon, R McCarthy, E Quigley, M Jacob, D Mythen, M Jordan, R Jacob. The last two players are particularly lethal up front, while Ryan is back in defence for Wexford. Confidence - Wexford on Handicap 8/10 ********************************************** Will post more if I get time - though I don't think Kilkenny will achieve the relatively massise 9 pts handicap vs Offally - Offally used to be a very strong team - and still should be able to make things reasonably tight vs their near neighbours - these two counties have a fierce rivalry in hurling over the years and Offally will pull out all the stops to hold Killkenny to a reaonable scoreline. Confidence - Offally on Handicap 7/10
