Ascot 3:00 - Sodexo Clarence House Chase(Grade 1) (1) 2m1f Willie Mullins sends Twinlight over to take his chance in the race but surprisingly he has an absolutely shocking strike-rate over fences in the UK. He won a Grade 1 at Leopardstown on heavy ground over the Christmas period and warrants his place in the field but he wouldn't be for me here. Tony McCoy takes the ride on Somersby once more for Mick Channon but the horse was no match for Dodging Bullets in the Tingle Creek and he has work to do to reverse the form. So it looks like a straight match between the front two and the clear value is Dodging Bullets. He is not a better horse than Sprinter Sacre, but the Henderson horse is likely to need the run after so long off the track so Nicholls can take advantage. Re: National Hunt Racing > Saturday January 17th Haydock Park 3:15 - Peter Marsh Chase(LIMITED HANDICAP) (Grade 2) (1) 3m1f Benbens should have a big chance if form is anything to go by as he had Broadway Buffalo behind when they met at Cheltenham back in November. The Nigel Twiston Davies horse is also running off a very attractive mark of 134 here, the same mark he ran off at Cheltenham that day. This horse unseated in the Becher Chase at Aintree when travelling like a dream and he ran with credit in the Welsh National last time up when 5th. The drop back in trip onto a much flatter track should be up his street but I really liked the way Broadway Buffalo won here at Haydock two runs back. He is up a few pounds but he was very well supported last time out and he can make amends here.
