Paper Test: Glory Hunt Using Random Selections [Football]

Been reading a few books on gambling and investment strategies of late. A few of them are quite convincing that even professional selection strategies are no better at beating the market than random choice. Whether you and I agree with this or not, I thought it would be interesting to put it to the test and will use this thread to see what happens. I will NOT be backing this with real money, and I suggest no one else does either. I will pick one football match a day, preferably one thats on TV. Given the choice I will also prioritise cups/international games etc where there is less form to work with as it is logical that this increases variance in results and therefore value in random selections. I will use excels random number generator to pick from home/draw/away. Then back £1 on that selection at best current odds. Bet 1: Stoke U21 v Newcastle U21 (live on SS2) Selection: Stoke U21 Odds: 5.5 Stake: £1 Having looked at the form I think you could double that Stoke price it looks an awful bet, but there you go thats the whole idea.
