Haydock 2:55 - Betfred Rose Of Lancaster Stakes(Group 3) (1) 1m2f 95yds Danadana (10/1 with William Hill) is going to be my selection for what looks like a very competitive high quality Group 3. The 6 year old has shown absolutely nothing so far this season bar his well beaten 3rd behind Noble Mission and Telescope at Chester which was reasonable form. However, the former winner of the Group 3 Huxley Stakes at Chester can only improve on what he has shown so far. Cumani's horses are running very well in general at the moment (3 winners and 9 places from his last 20 runners) and this also represents a drop in class for the horse. He was a well backed 4/1 chance for the Group 2 York Stakes last time out and is value at the prices to make amends. When this horse ran very poorly at Newmarket back in May, Ed Dunlop's horses were running terribly so the run can be forgiven. At the moment the yard is absolutely on fire, in fact four of his last eight runners have won and he won a big handicap last weekend with Red Avenger. The booking of Olivier Peslier here also has to be a big positive as he is one of the best in the business. The horse finished 2nd at Windsor off a 1 pound lower mark at the end of last year and recorded a nice win at Salisbury before that. With the yard in such fine form, take the available 14/1 as I can't see her going off that big.
