Chester 2:45 - Mbna Chester Vase(Group 3) (1) 1m4f 66yds The John Gosden trained colt Romsdal has to be of serious interest here after an impressive 6 length victory at Kempton last time out, albeit it was a Class 6 race. Seagull Star finished 3rd behind Sudden Wonder in the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions at Newmarket last month and a repeat of that effort would have to see him go very close here, for all he might even improve again. Scotland has seen some money tonight, the Andrew Balding yard is in fine form and he won well at Epsom in a Conditions Stakes last September. He ran poorly behind Western Hymn last time out however. I am happy to place a small each-way bet on Automated here who has a great draw and can improve on better ground. Automated - 1 Point each-way @ 25/1 Paddy Power - £250 Free Bet when you Register! Re: Flat Racing > Thursday May 8th Chester 1:45 - Ig Handicap(2) 1m2f 75yds John Patrick Shanahan brings the in-form That's Plenty here to try land a nice prize and he has every chance if form is anything to go by. The 5 year old gelding really impressed when landing a Class 3 handicap at Musselburgh last month and previous to that he finished 2nd in the Irish Lincoln which could be good enough to win a race like this. Sennockian Star's chances all depends on the break from the stalls as he is coming from Stall 11 but this front runner is normally quick away so he could well grab that rail first if all goes to plan. I am happy with my bet on Marcret though who looks very nicely treated and he clearly loves it here at Chester. Marcret - 2 Points WIN @ 6/1 Betfred - £25 Free Bet when you Register!
