kevshat
Re: Hopkins v Shumenov > Sunday April 20th Saturday previews: 4pts J.Murray to beat A.Crolla 7/10 Betway I think John Murray is a worthy favourite here and I’m actually a little surprised that he isn’t a bit shorter than he is. I like Anthony Crolla. He gives it his all but he can be a bit limited in his work and he’s in with a real puncher here which won’t be easy for him. We saw with the knockout Mathews dealt him that Crolla can walk on to a punch and there’s the danger he could do that here. I think Murray will prove a bit too good. Changing opponents late on isn’t an easy thing to overcome but Quigg has had that happen to him before and he’s coped. I think he might take a few rounds to grind this South African down but eventually I do expect the champion to get through and earn a second half stoppage. He held his own against Adrien Broner and I think he’ll hold his own in this fight. Shawn Porter was fantastic in beating Devon Alexander last time out but I wonder if that was his one big night. We’ll find out here but I can’t help but feel the canny New Yorker is a little bit of value here. I expect the veteran’s experience to come to the fore here and I would imagine he may well look to spoil the fight a bit so I’m not expecting a classic but I am expecting a typical Hopkins fight where he proves too clever and too canny for his opponent and he runs out a winner on points.
