Exeter 2:40 Fergal O'Brien does not bring many runners to Exeter so it is always interesting when he does bring one here, 15 of his 24 runners have finished in the top 4 here which include 4 winners. This is a big wide open handicap but this horse Pasture Bay is running off a nice mark of 110 and if he can recapture some of his earlier form he would have a good chance with a decent 5 pound claimer on top in Conor Shoemark. This horse won at Market Rasen over 2m1f back in August and although he was pulled up the last twice, that was on soft ground and he could well want it better. Those two poor runs were also his only runs over fences and he is back over the smaller sticks now. If you ignored his last two runs he would be a much shorter price than 40/1.
