UK Open 6-9 June

The UK Open begins on Sky on Thursday night. This tournament is famously dubbed the FA Cup of darts and luck of the draw is an awful big part of the event. The top 32 in the UK Open order of merit don't come into the tournament until Friday's third round stage but there are a number of big names in the pre-determined early rounds draw which is Thursday night including a certain Philip Douglas Taylor so the tournament will be flat out from the start. Re: UK Open 6-9 June Tournament preview: 1pt ew W.Newton to win UK Open 40/1 Boylesports (1/5 1-4) One man who seems to go well every year at the Reebok is Wes Newton. In the last four years, so the time he’s been a serious darts player, he has results of last 16 where he was beaten by Taylor, quarter final, runner up and quarter final in this event so the air clearly suits him at the home of Bolton Wanderers. Obviously it isn’t far from his Fleetwood home so maybe that has something to do with it. I’d say Wesley is playing the best darts he ever has coming into this tournament and he showed that when he won a European Tour event recently. His Premier League experience has made him big time now and at 40/1 with a bit of luck in the draw he can win his first PDC major this weekend.
