Flat Racing > Friday 25th January

*Fashion Flow > Wolverhampton 7:30 > 0.5 Points e/w @ 40/1 Bet365 BOG* Going to take a chance on the complete outsider here for the John Butler yard. It is still a very lightly raced horse, having had only 4 runs to date. It is 5 pounds lower than it's last mark, and now runs off a leniant mark of 50, and if any late money comes for this horse, knowing the yard, that could be significant. It definately has ability this horse, as on debut, it was 7th of 14 in a very good Class 4 Newbury maiden, and went off a short price in that race. Today is a Class 7 poor race at Wolverhampton, so if any of that ability still remains, it should have a squeak of a place.

Re: Flat Racing > Friday 25th January 6.00 Wolverhampton A few of these are jumpers probably waiting for opportunities and better ground. Art History showed very little on comeback run after a short break and this is a dramatic step up in trip and has plenty to prove at present. Valid Reason has made up into a useful hurdler and has won on this surface at Kempton twice but would be better suited to a soft lead and unlikely to get that with Art History in the field and probably still in the grip of the handicapper. Odin is a consistent sort but without busting the wins out or being ahead of the handicapper or anything. He steps up dramatically in trip and would suggest clutching at straws to try and find a little more with him. Murcar won a 4 runner handicap beating English Summer (who has since won) up 4lb for that effort but young apprentice takes 7lb off and he looks worth his claim at present. Worry is that that form is potentially dubious given the time and how tactical it was and would be no sure bet to now back that up in a better contested race. Wild Desert looks out of sorts at present and unknown apprentice takes the ride also a worry. Somemothersdohavem comes here on the back of a short break but now has to prove the handicapper doesn’t have him in tight grip which looked the case on his last run. Experimentalist is of interest having only lost out by a nose last time out after 163 days off the track. The 3rd has since won off a 1lb higher mark and although up 2lb could still be well treated. Obviously the bounce factor a concern and the fact he remains a maiden a worry. Bradbury could be the most interesting for the inform Mccain yard, he had his first run for the yard last time out and should come on for the run and will be much better suited to this step up in trip and dropped a 1lb. He got quite outpaced over 1m4f last time out so stepping up in trip looks a good move from a good draw aswell. 2pt win Bradbury 9/2 vcbet 7.30 Wolverhampton A reasonably good looking class 7 handicap surprisingly. Delightful Sleep has gone much better last 2 starts but remains a maiden but yard continue in hot form and would stupid to dismiss completely despite wide draw. Under Par is another that has been running reasonably well lately if a little inconsistent but is another that is drawn out in the car park and makes it easier to look elsewhere. Autumnus caught the eye last time in a similar race over 7f running on well in closing stages so step up in trip may help but did show very little in maidens over slightly further so jury out and looks short enough. Michaels Nook was given a great ride by Morris yesterday and he will need to be even cleverer to overturn a 6lb penalty just 24hrs later. Monsieur Pontaven is a capable sort and well handicapped on his best form but has plenty of attitude too boot and his inconsistency is a major problem. Fleetwoodsands for the Milton Bradley yard may be worth a chance. This is his first try at class 7 and has dropped 15lb below his last winning mark and has run much better races last twice to suggest he may be running into form like the rest of the yard who have had a couple of winners recently. Useful apprentice takes off the very handy 7lb and not badly drawn in stall 6. 1pt e/w Fleetwoodsands 7/1 hills
