Cantstopmenow
I have been playing in the free NFL pools at matchbookmedia.com and have come one pick away from winning 10k USD twice now. Last week I missed on an early card game.. but 4 weeks ago I was perfect going in to the late Sunday game. All I had to do was pick the total correctly and the moneyline. It was New York Giants v Philly and the total. Both bets were near even money. I didn't hedge and I am kicking myself. How much should I have hedged on each to look in maximum profit? Is it +EV to hedge? The tricky part is.. I was pretty sure I would be the only winner but what happens if I won and had to share the jackpot and hedge more then I won. What would you have done? I am still on tilt for not hedging!!
Samba_SamPa
Re: Hedging in Free NFL Pools Never played them, CSMN, but if it is unknown as to whether you would be a sole winner or one of several, then I wouldn't think it is possible to hedge with any confidence. If it's free to play, then best just to accept it as 'tilting at windmills', and hope you get lucky one of these times I guess
