Flat Racing - Sunday 16th of September

14.10 Bath: Tooley Woods @ 11/2 VC Very modest 3yo filly who showed improvement in recent weeks though as she won a poor seller at Leicester in August and confirmed her well-being at her next race at Brighton for new connections even though the bare result suggest otherwise. She travelled very well for a long time but was eventually badly hampered as she was kind of in a sandwich 2f out and lost every chance on consequence. She was eased down eventually and the form itself is therefore completely to ignore but till the interferences she looked a big player and she may do well today from a low mark as she had still not many races and can improve. The form of that race worked out well already as the 2nd placed Jay Bee Blue won on Friday at Wolverhampton. 16.00 Ffos las: Mister Musicmaster @ 14/1 Coral Not the most obvious choice but 14/1 looks a big price as I thought he showed a nice performance in a big handicap at Haydock last week. He raced completely isolated on the stands side and was early under pressure but stayed on well actually and wasn't far beaten in the end. He's down to his last winning mark and will be happy on the ground today so I think he has a chance to spring a surprise in this small field. 16.30 Ffos Las: Kyleakin Lass @ 7/2 VC Kyleakin Lass was a massive eye-catcher two weeks ago at Sandown when she was badly hampered on the inside rail in the closing stages while travelling like a dream actually but she had nowhere to go 1f out and came only in the last couple of yards free when she finished strongly hands and heels ridden in 3rd place eventually. This run suggest she has still more to offer and that she could be way better than her current handicap mark as I assume she'd have won this competitive race with a clear run. She won earlier this year at Windsor on softish ground easily off 81, found 6f in her next race probably too far and was in her next two races back over 5f not far beaten. I expect her to run a big race today again but hopefully with a successful outcome of course.

Re: Flat Racing - Sunday 16th of September Not much to inspire with todays moderate fair but there may still be a few winners to be found. Going to have a play on Hughie Morrison's 3yo filly ISOBELLA in Baths 5.10. The step up to 2m brought about a fair chunk of improvement last time and another furlong should be within her compass. She travelled like the winner for the vast majority of the race but didn't find that much off the bridle. Might be worth chancing her again with blinkers instead of cheekpieces and quicker ground, maybe she couldn't quicken on the soft ground although she should of enjoyed it on breeding. The race itself is pretty weak with jump trainers running their nags and a lot of disappointing types, it may take little winning. Shes around the 6/1 mark with the BOG firms.
