When looking at a race, to what extent do you factor in the weights? I'm still not sure how important they are. I'm sure I read somewhere that they may be more relevant on a softer track rather than a firm one? Cheers.

Re: How much do you read into the weights? My view is that you can find some good angles. For instance, many 3yos are going to get a very handy weight advantage against older runners. Weight will play a huge advantage on softer ground and if you have a top weight fav that hasn't acted on the ground previously, so I'd tend to look for a lighter runner that has. One of the easiest ways to find value, imo
