sarah07
Daughter of More Than Ready, More Joyous got a barrier trial win at Randwick on Monday. She was stuck on the fence until rider Nash Rawiller pushed the mare into clear at the 200-metre mark. More Joyous showed her famous turn of foot, and recorded a time of 1 minute 4 seconds in the 1050 metre track. "She did what we thought she would do,†stable representative Mark Newnham said before declaring "she’s lost nothing from the autumnâ€. The mare is still undefeated in her four starts during Sydney Carnival. She is the first mare to complete the Doncaster Mile- Queen Elizabeth Stakes double, a feat that eluded the mighty Sunline. Trainer Gai Waterhouse is eyeing off another crack at the Cox Plate for the six-year-old. More Joyous competed in the 2010 weight-for-age championship, finishing fifth behind So You Think. "She’s proved that she can run the 2000 metres with her win in the Queen Elizabeth,†Newnham added. "At this stage there’s no firm plans for a kick off race. She’ll trial again before heading to the races.†More Joyous ran a length and a half over Dystopia, who managed to get a good hold on the line, while Secret Admirer finished third.
