sarah07
Included in 17 acceptances at Goodwood in England for Friday's Group II Gordon's King George Stakes, is the Paul Messara-trained Ortensia. Ortensia finished ninth in the King's Stand Stakes during the Royal Ascot carnival giving the team disappointment, but pulled back his pride when he finished fourth at New Market in the July Cup. The dual Group I winner will tackle Masamah, Italian import Spirit Quartz, who finished fifth in the King’s Stand Stakes and Group I winner Tangerine Trees while trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam will saddle up Secret Asset. "He is a course and distance winner so that has got to help,†Chapple-Hyam said before discussing the progress of Ortensia, who has been residing with the ex-pat. "Leah (Gavraich) has been really pleased with Ortensia and they are hoping for a big run after finishing fourth in the July Cup. "They have had no setbacks so they are happy.†
