Recommended Posts

Trainer John Marzol and Wagga Wagga jockey James Geppert will team up with two runners on Sunday at Narrandera to continue both of their strong strike. The rider will take his shot with his mount Ingleside in the Narrandera Bowling Club Maiden (1000m) and Drama Lodge in the Manildra Group Class 2 (1000m) for Marzol. Geppert is hoping to hook up a win before heading to Alice Springs next month with Sonro in the Menz Plant Pty ltd Handicap (1400m). The jockey said he and John had a pretty good run and hopes for the best for the following runs, last Monday they got their fourth winner together at Cowra with Bad Kitty. Drama Lodge's win two starts ago was also part of Marzol and Geppert's haul which includes nine top three finishers from their past 14 starters as a combination. Geppert is hopeful of a winning return from Drama Lodge who will start from the outside alley. "It's a bad draw, but the horse goes well enough on what he showed last campaign," he said. Ingleside is an unknown quantity who will be having his first start for Marzol. "Looking at his form he may need a bit of distance, but it also looks like he has been racing in a bit better company," Geppert said. Geppert will also need to be at his best on Sonro who has topweight of 60kg and a wide draw. Set to start from gate 14, Sonro ran second at his latest start and will have blinkers back on.
