I see it carrying it on into the season and this being one of the best team in the Majors. Pirates +155 to bet 1 unit @ 5dimes Pirates tend to always start the season pretty well. While I think that the Phillies overall are a better team then the Pirates (by a lot). I really struggle to see where this team is gonna get most of its offense. Hopefully Bedard can start strong and we are looking at a Pirates 3-1 win

Last season's Cy Young NL winner led the Majors with an ERA of just 2.28, he had a league-high 248 Ks and tied the top of the NL with 21 decisions. The Padres will attack behind the throwing of debutant Edinson Volquez, acquired from the Reds as part of the deal that saw Latos move to Cinci. Volquez gave up an ERA of 5.71 in 20 starts for the Reds last season, and endured yet another demotion down to the minor leagues for a spell. I like the Dodgers to be able to put runs on the board early tonight, whilst Kershaw should make it difficult for the 71-91, last season, Padres to get a foothold in the game. This bet is priced up at Evens with Bet365, which looks closer to the mark than Hills' quote of 8/5. 2012 record: 1-0 (+1.65)
