AW Handicaps - In Depth Form Study - Double or Bust

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm off work for the next week and decided to set myself a challenge. 500 point starting bank, it'll be double or bust by next week. My knowledge of individual horses and trainers is pretty poor but I've picked up a few things and I am relying on in depth form study - studying each race for a couple of hours at least using stats and form from various websites and re-runs of recent races. All bets will be on the All Weather. Looking for value. :D I've taken this approach before with some success but a week long trial will hopefully determine whether that success was short term luck or something more. I'll sometimes be backing, sometimes laying, sometimes maybe playing the Tote or Spread betting on the Indices. I reserve the right to go for crazy accumulators by the end of the week. Please DON'T follow me blindly - it'll probably go badly wrong, but I'll try to post up reasons for my bets and hopefully that may be of interest to some of you. Cheers NGS

Re: AW Handicaps - In Depth Form Study - Double or Bust 14.45 at Wolves Nothing stands out. Decided to back 3 on the Place market here 25 points on each - 1. Just Timmy Marcus - Was off the track for 9 months and has had 3 efforts since her return, finishing 3rd on last 2 outings. Has won or placed 12 times from 29 runs at Wolves. Now off 53 having previously placed 3 times at Wolves off 64. Hoping he is still coming back to his best after the lay off. Drawn 1. N.B. Horse has history of low trades, wouldn't trust it to win. Odds of 2.42 taken 2. Cwmni - Won last time out off 49 C and D, now up to 53. But on last run came from towards rear off what appeared to be a steady pace and had small measure of interference. Also drawn better this time. Fancy him to hit the frame again. Odds of 3.05 taken 3. Ashgrove Nell - Speculative punt. 4 year old C and D winner off 54 in Sept. 2011. Now off 55. Has been poor recently and on last run was 11.6 lengths behind the winner at C and D. However was slow getting away, tailed off for a bit and appeared to run on comfortably at the end without being driven. Worth a shot. Odds of 10 taken. NGS
