Event HV71 - Linkopings
Selection HV71 -1.5 (Asian-handicap)
Strength 10/10
Date 01/11/2011
Bookmaker/Price Betway @ 2.75
Reasoning Another day full of hockey matches brings us another round from the Elitserien where we find the HC Linkopings heading to Kinnarps Arena to take on the now leaders HV71 for the 2nd time this season after winning 2-1 at home in the first. So like I said, HV71 is leading the league with 33 points, 12-4-1 record, 57:40 goals coming after an impressive 5-1 win on road against Farjestads BK, stretching the winning streak to 6 in a row. On the other side, Linkopings is 4th with 28, 10-6-1, 36:37 goals winning their 2nd in a row last time at home against the new promoted team Vaxjo Lakers, 2-1OT, actually this is the 2nd match in a row that they done a poor job after they went into extra time in the previous one against Modo to. There`s no doubt that the Linkopings are not at their best when on road, with a 3-5-0 record, 16:21 goals (compared to 7-1-1 at home, 20:16) and that`s why am going to take HV71 the better team at the moment with this impressive 6-game winning streak to take another win against a team that doesn`t score much, more so when on road. HV71 will be coming today with the best offense in the league in home ice games and I will pick them to win it by 2 or more goals.

Event CSKA Moscow - Vityaz Chekhov
Selection CSKA Moscow -1.5 (Asian-handicap)
Strength 10/10
Date 02/11/2011
Bookmaker/Price Betsson @ 2.10
Reasoning In the KHL we go now where the modest Chekhov will head to CSKA Ice Palace to take on the team of HC CSKA Moscow for the first time in this 2011/2012 season. The Vityaz team is on a bit of a streak right, a 4-game winning streak that is, beating 6-4 Cerepovec at home, after two very strong teams of Ufa and Kazan that are out of balance lately. Actually no surprise if you can take in consideration those things and the fact that Chekhov had somewhat more strenght at home (2 wins out of 6) then on road (1 win out of 8). This time they will again head on road where they are one of the worst team in the buisness this season, 1-6-1, 9:28 goals, that`s 2nd worst offense and one of the weekest defense, trying to break a 7-game losing streak. CSKA on the other hand is showing some good stuff in recent games, beat Magnitogorsk in the previous round at home 4-2 for their 3rd win in the last 4. Counting the fact the recent form and that CSKA is so far a force on home ice with a 8-2-2 record (7 wins in regular time), 34:22 goals, I think this will be the end of the lucky (imo) streak of the Chekov team. So one of the best offense in home games in the league against one of the worst defense in road games, my pick will be for CSKA to win it clearly, that`s by at least 2 goals.
