First post on here. Over the last few years I have been backing tennis mainly on Betfair with mixed success and am going to make a thread on here just to see if it makes me more disciplined I will post selections and reasoning behind them. Starting bank £50 1st bet. £20 Oliver Rochus to beat John Isner at 3.4. (reasoning to follow in next post just don't want to post after they have started)

Re: Tennis Gloryhunt Reasoning behind the first bet is that despite Isner being No1 seed for the tournament and favourite for the final his movement can sometimes look awkward and Rochus is good enough of both back and forehand side to make him move and unbalance him. Obviously whenever backing against a huge server on grass there is a risk of getting ace'd off court very quickly. but if he can see second serves Rochus wins 53% of secoind serve return points putting him in the top 15 players. Rochus has a solid grass court game as he proved at wimbledon in 10 when he took Djokiovic to 5 sets and led 2-1 with a break before eventually falling to the semi-finalist. Despite this his match against Kei Nishikori earlier this year was very poor and I am hoping he does not give that type of performance here today
