Re: MLB: April 22nd 2011 Picks Going with an extra run in the totals as like these to go way over NY Mets - Arizona over 9.5 @ 2.42 pinnacle Pelfrey is 0-2, with a 9.72 ERA and is coming off another por game where he allowed 4 runs on 11 hits in the 4-0 loss at Atlanta. It does not get any easier for him as he faces Arizona where he is 0-5 with a 6.69 ERA in 7 starts against them, and they are hitting the ball quite well of late. Saunders is not much better for Arizona as he is 0-2, with a 6.32 ERA and he allowed 5 runs on 12 hits in the 5-3 loss to San Francisco. He has struggled on the road over his last 10 starts going bacl to last season, as he is 0-9 with a 5.73 ERA. With the Mets bats also warming up, liking there to be runs scored here. Milwaukee - Houston over 9.5 @ 2.28 pinnacle Gallardo is 1-1, with a 4.62 ERA but has struggled in his last 2 starts as he allowed 7 runs on 10 hits in the 8-4 loss at Washington. he has fared well against Houston at home winning all 5 starts but they have won 3 of their last 4 road games, so the bats are doing the job for them as well. With Gallardo's struggles on the mound, like them to get a few runs here. Figueroa starts for Houston and he is 0-2, with a 7.31 ERA as he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in the 5-3 win over San Diego. Also he has gone 2-2 with a 4.70 ERA in 4 starts against Milwaukee, so they have done pretty well against him in the past. St Louis -1.5 @ 2.61 pinnacle McClellan has pitched well as he is 2-0, with a 1.89 ERA as he allowed just 1 run in the 9-2 win over the LA Dodgers. Volquez on the other hand, may be also 2-0 but he has a 6.75 ERA to go with his 4 starts where he has given up 17 runs in total. Against St Louis he is 1-1 with a 4.98 ERA in 4 starts but the problems for him is that the Cardinals middle order is starting to hit, and with Puyols getting his eye in, then the others around him tend to follow. While both sets of bats are very good, Volquez is giving up too many runs and can see McClennan doing enough to keep the Reds bats in check while the Cardinals should score a few runs off Volquez. April picks: 27-38 (-2.97)
