Re: Darts: Premier League Week 9 2 for me this week including my first max bet of 2011. 10pts P.Taylor (-3.5 legs) to beat M.Webster 5/6 William Hill This one's a max bet for me because I can't see how Webster wins 4 legs here. He's only won 3 legs in the last two weeks combined and as good as Whitlock and Lewis are they ain't Taylor in the form he's in at present. In each of the last two weeks Webster has averaged 87 and at this standard the only thing that is going to guarantee you is a mighty good shellacking. Especially against Taylor. Taylor has been 17 and 18pts better than Webster in the averages in the last two weeks. That's over 50pts for the scoring phase of each leg which is another dart even two really. Even when Webster played ok average wise against Barney in losing 8-4 averaging 96 he was still 7pts behind Taylor which in itself is a big gap. Taylor was averaging 106/107 for large parts against Barney last week so Webster has to find at least 15pts on his average if not 20 and I just don't see that happening. Even if it does you feel Taylor has that turbo gear he's ready to activate. Taylor only beat Webster 8-5 in week 2 of the tournament but he'd just come off that whopping by Lewis at the o2 and 2 of the 5 legs Webster won that night came via 160 and 170 checkouts. If he checks them out again here then good luck to the fella. The bare facts are we need Taylor to win this 8-4 or better which is 2 unanswered breaks of throw. I think he does that and tbh I wouldn't be surprised if he won this 8-0. It's a max bet on the Power -3.5 for me here. 4pts R.Barneveld to beat S.Whitlock 5/4 Sportingbet Raymond Barneveld is playing some lovely arrers at the minute. Let's ignore last week in the main. We know he doesn't turn up against Taylor. Although I can't let last week go without mentioned Barney's grouping which was as good as I've seen from him since he won the world title in THAT final. It's not just the Premier League where Barney is playing well. He reached the final of a floor event not too long ago as well as the International tournament in Holland 2 weeks ago. Whitlock threatens to be there or thereabouts. Individual throws are good but backed up by poor ones. He's throwing a lot of 180's but he's throwing a lot of 60's and even 100's which aren't always good enough at this level. What worries me more about Whitlock is he isn't hitting his doubles crisply which in the very top company that he's keeping in this match, he simply must do. Fair enough in their first meeting this season Barney checked out like he was throwing a bag of tacks at a dartboard shaped carpet and he won't do that again but I think his game has returned to such a level that he won't need to. He's scoring very consistently, hitting doubles, looking relaxed and generally enjoying his arrers. He'll have the crowd with him again in Scotland and they can propel Barney to win the final match of the night.
