Best Bet Of The Day - Weds 6th April

Recommended Posts

3.10pm @ Beverly 'Falasteen' 14/1 (Will Hill) Very competitive looking sprint but I think it's less open that at first sight. This horse is well drawn due to new rules meaning low numbers should be favoured, is fit from all weather, went close last time out in a competitive sprint finishing 2l in front of yesterday's impressive winner 'Taurus Twins'. So we have a fit horse, running in decent form for a sprint specialist stable, I'm happy to go with that, although Lenny Bee will be a danger. 1 point win

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Weds 6th April 7.40 Kempton Sirius Prospect 8/1 e/w Bet 365 A tricky little race and as much as I like the favourite, I fancy my selection to progress this year. SP was an expensive purchase for this small yard who don't normally splash out on their horses. Add to that the name they gave the horse, I think they feel this is a pretty smart animal. Was introduced last year in Newbury maiden where he finished a very good half length behind Mantoba. The horse was unfancied that day but run a massive race. The winner of that race Mantoba went on to win a class 2 conditions race and was then thought good enough to go to the breeders cup juvenile where he finished just over 6 lengths behind the winner. The selections second start came at Doncaster in a very competitive race won by Bridgefield of Godolphin. SP raced up with pace that day and when seeming like he was going to be well beaten, stayed on again at the finish to finish under 2 lengths behind the winner. On his third start he delivered the goods at even money and although winning by the shortest of margins, I thought there was much to like about this performance. Think the step up in trip here should suit and I don't think he is too badly handicapped. If you consider how close he was to Mantoba and now that horse is rated over 100. This race is full of unexposed horses with the selection being one of them. Crowley rode the horse to victory last time out and is on board again plus there is 8 that go to post which is perfect for an each way bet. The horse is also proven at the track. If with a "Bigger" stable, I think this horse would be much shorter. If you consider what this horse has shown so far compared to a horse like Club Oceanic, I don't think their should be such a big difference in the price of the 2 horses. Of course come race time tomorrow, I may be proved wrong but I just feel Sirius Prospect can make into a decent handicapper this year.
