ReasoningOnly runner of the day from trainer Nicky Henderson and/or jockey A P McCoy. The partnership this season have yielded 26 wins from 56 for a strike rate of 46%. Henderson does not win here often but his hurdlers do a much better job that chasers. 0/10 is chases here the last 5 seasons while hurdlers enjoy a 25% strike rate from 28 runs (7 winners). McCoy is very experienced here having won 23 out of 97 for a strike rate of 24% over hurdles the last 5 seasons.. He is 5 from 19 with hurdlers here this season. Owned by J P McManus. Henderson have 5 wins out of 12 hurdle runs this seasons for McManus. The selection is lightly raced with just three runs in Britain (6th, 7th, and 2nd). He was last seen 70 days finishing 2nd to the Hobbs/Johnson runner Shinrock Hill. Jumping was better but still keen early but McCoy can be trusted to get this to improve some more. His last run was with jockey David Bass and there not little left to fight late in the race. McCoy booking should change that and result in a stronger finish. I'm sure McManus is paying the premium to have this trained because he is half-brother to one of the owners star Binocular.

ReasoningTrainer Nicky Henderson was dissapointed in this race last year when his 1-2f Onemix was beaten by 20-1 Halling Gal who made all the running. He enters a runner that's not race since 2009 on the flat. Henderson can get them ready from any time off so I am not worried about it. The owner Mrs Christopher Hanbury is having is having his best season in many year. He has 5 wins from 19 and that is most wins in a seasons by him since he started owning. The 1998-1999 season was his previous best at 4 wins from 11. He seems to be getting on top of things ans its interesting what his entry can do. He also has two more horses that are waiting in the wings for their obstable debut with Mono Man and Ericht. That is just 2 of his 5 horses that raced this year so he's more about quality and not quantity. He also owns Crystal Rock and Tanks For That. The selection looks good on pedigree. Related to useful Crystal Curling, Crystal Rock (has same owner), and Jack The Giant. Dam winner of Lancashire Oaks and sired by Peintre Celebre. Hurdlers by the sire is having a good season with 2 wins and 2 more placed from 12 runs by 6 different horses.
