New year being brought in with a bang with some cracking matchups on this card. Edgar v Maynard Shocked when I saw the lines for this fight, Edgar recently crowned champion having disposed of BJ Penn, not once but twice. I honestly thought the 1st fight in Dubai was just a freak result, BJ should probably have won the decision, in the rematch however Edgar totally dominated the prodigy and rightly defended the title. Then I thought that must be BJ finished, not so, a 1st minuite KO in his next fight made Edgars two wins even more impressive. Edgar now comes up against the only man who has beat him in the UFC, Maynard, a specialist at grinding out decisions and fighting out of Xtreme Couture will certainly be no pushover, his unblemished 10-0-0 speaks for its self, and with stats like that one would expect him to be a headliner, thats not the case but and in the last 2 years 2 of his decion wins have been split. NowI feel is the time for Frankie Edgar to stamp his authority on this division and gain the respect he deserves. His confidence will be sky high and with both submissions and KO power to add to his very impressive wrestling there is just no way that he is losing this fight. 20 pts Edgar to win @ 2.22 (Betfair) 8 pts Edgar by decision@ 2.78 (Betfair) 5 pts Edgar by KO @ 6.6 (Betfair) Thiago Silva v Brandon Vera When first dropping to LH Vera looked like he has found his niche. Things havent really took off for him but and now he has been paired with the animal that is Thiago Silva. An absolute wrecking machine whose only losses have came against Machida (who had just came into UFC and no one could get within 2 metres of him let alone hit him) and a decision against another top contender in Evans. Vera coming into this fight after a vicious beating by Jon Jones and a unamious decions loss v Couture, has been thown to the lion here and this is Silvas next step in climbing the ladder to a title shot. 20 pts Silva to win @ 1.7 (Betfair) 15 pts Silva by KO @ 2.58 (Betfair) Kim v Diaz A very evenly priced match up, the edge just, I feel quite rightly, with Kim. Diaz is another one of these guys that has never relly got kicked off and Kim, the bigger man, should have too much for him, both standing and on the ground. Again, I feel this fight has been given to Kim with a title shot to follow after the win. 10 pts Kim to win @ 1.87 (Betfair) 8 pts Kim by decison @2.4 (Betfair)

Re: UFC 125 Unlucky there Andy. I actually scored the ME a draw as well to be honest but there were 2 razor thin rounds, couldnt put up a stronguement against any of the scores. Fair price for Silva but unfortunately Vera just wanted to survive. Hope to see more of it:ok
